Julia Vega, a Jamaica Plain woman, celebrated turning 107 with relatives on Sunday.
Family members came from as far as Puerto Rico to celebrate with the matriarch on the big day, which was also Mother’s Day.
WHDH reported that Vega’s daughter said her mother is still very independent. She chooses to wash her own laundry and enjoys cooking.
