James's Gate: Former Site of Jamaica Plain Hangout Sold to Developer
The popular neighborhood pub closed abruptly in September after nearly two decades.

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA - Yes, it really is gone.
The former location of James's Gate has been bought by local developers The Ballas Group, signifying the nail in the coffin for the beloved Irish pub.
In September its owners closed its doors in September without warning after 18 years of success in Jamaica Plain. The decision came as a shock to many, who saw it as a popular neighborhood watering hole frequented by locals.
