JP Resident to Conduct Handel and Haydn Society's Inaugural Unity Concert
"A musical rally in the name of unity."
BOSTON, MA – Jamaica Plain's Reginald Mobley will direct a host of musicians in a first-time concert from the Handel and Haydn Society dedicated to peace and unity in the Boston community.
The concert takes place Sunday, Nov. 6, at 3 p.m., at Roxbury's First Church, 10 Putnam St.
Mobley will direct members of the H+H Orchestra and Chorus, the Young Men's Chorus, and the Young Women's Chorus.

The program is described as "a musical rally in the name of unity and offers support to those who lost their loved ones to senseless acts of violence because of civil injustices."
It features music by African-American composers including Bobby McFerrin and Moses Hogan, as well as music of the Afro-French guard of King Louis the XVI, Joseph Bologne Chevalier de Saint- Georges.
