JAMAICA PLAIN, MA — Police arrested an 18-year-old man from Dorchester Monday in connection with a loaded gun they said he left in a building's laundry room.

Police said someone called to report a group of men causing a disturbance near 945 Parker Street near the The Mildred C. Hailey (formerly Bromley-Heath) Apartments early Friday morning. When they arrived, police said they saw three men leave the laundry room and head somewhere into the building. Because the men left the laundry room so quick, police searched the laundry room and found a loaded Smith & Wesson gun in the pocket of a jacket left in the room.

Investigators identified the Dorchester teen as the owner of the gun and issued a warrant for his arrest. On Monday Youth Violence Strike Force arrested the teen at his home. He was arraigned at Roxbury District Court on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm and possession of a large capacity feeding device.
