Two-Alarm Fire Breaks Out In Jamaica Plain

The fire was reported just after 4 p.m. near the corner of Boylston and Beecher streets.

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA — Firefighters have put out a two-alarm fire at 49 Boylston Street. The call came in at 4:05 p.m. When firefighters arrived flames were hopping out of the top floor of a 2 1/2-story wood frame house.

Four or five residents and two dogs made it out safely, fire department officials told Patch at the scene. Crews helped one of the dogs get oxygen. Estimated damages are around $400,000.

By 6 p.m. the heavy fire was put out and crews were making sure there were no hot spots.

Because of nearby trees and power lines, Eversource crews came in to clip some wires.
