The proposal for three new buildings also includes renovations to low-income housing units at 125 Amory Street.
JAMAICA PLAIN—Jamaica Plain is about to get 353 new apartments. Amory Street Partners, a partnership between the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corp., The Community Builders and Urban Edge, has notified the City of Boston of its intent to develop 353 apartments across three new buildings adjacent to the Amory Street Apartments at 125 Amory St.
The proposition includes renovation of the existing 199-unit Amory Street Apartments, affordable senior housing building, and construction of approximately 353 mixed-income apartments across three new five-to-six-story buildings on site. Over 250 new parking spaces would be located on the site.
Up to ten new affordable senior apartments would be added within the existing Amory Street Apartments. 135 apartments in the new buildings would be designated affordable, with the remaining 218 apartments offered at market rate. The renovation is estimated to cost $150 million.
