New Monthly Film Series Kicks Off in Jamaica Plain This Month
"Film Night at @ the LGH" will run monthly through May 2015.

Movie buffs in the Jamaica Plain area are in for a treat.
The Loring-Greenough House in Jamaica Plain will kick off a new monthly film series starting Friday, Oct. 24 that will feature a variety of movies and run through May 2015.

The first film set to be aired is “My Amityville Horror,” which begins at 7 p.m. on Oct. 24. The screening is being sponsored by The Meeting Point , and a therapist from The Meeting Point will hold a discussion after the film about trauma and related issues raised by the film, a trailer for which can be seen below. Admission to the movie showings is free, though donations are welcome and encouraged.

OCTOBER (Friday, Oct. 24, 2014)
“My Amityville Horror”
(A seriously frightening documentary in which a family member who experienced the notorious Amityville Horror haunting tells all. Not for children!)
NOVEMBER (Friday, Nov. 21, 2014)
“Trains, Planes and Automobiles”
Comic John Candy is a traveling salesman in this holiday road movie that is both hilarious and heartwarming. Steve Martin.
DECEMBER (Saturday, Dec. 6)
“It’s a Wonderful Life”
This is your chance to watch this holiday classic with a crowd of other fans! Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed.
JANUARY (Friday, Jan. 23, 2015)
“The Endurance”
Exactly 100 years ago, in 1915, explorer Ernest Shackleton’s ship became encased in ice in the Antarctica. Come along on his miraculous two-year journey to get help for his crew. You won’t believe the ending! Liam Nielsen narrates.
FEBRUARY (Friday, Feb. 20, 2015)
“Glory”
