Obituary: Ellie Elias, 63, Owner of Sorella's Restaurant

Elias was owned and operated the Jamaica Plain eatery for 32 years. She passes away Monday.

Eleanor Elias of Jamaica Plain, formerly of Boston’s South End, passed away on September 28, 2015. She was 63 years old.

Born and raised in Boston, Eleanor owned and operated Sorellas’s Restaurant in Jamaica Plain for 32 years.

Eleanor was the beloved daughter of the late Nassem and Minerva (Abazaid) Elias. Dear and devoted mother of Giuseppi and Sophia Ricciardi. Eleanor is survived by her brother, George Elias, five sisters, her stepmother Mary Sarkis and the father of her children, Joseph Ricciardi. She was sister of the late Georgette, Loretta, Sue and Shirley. Aunt of Bruce, Dylan, Lisa and many other nieces and nephews. Dear friend of the late Joanne Petrie and her family.

Eleanor’s family would like to thank friends, family, and strangers involved in her care, especially Dr. R. Freedman.

Eleanor’s Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church 55 Emmonsdale Rd. WEST ROXBURY. Visiting hour in the Church Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Eleanor’s memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute P.O. Box 849168
Boston, MA 02284-9168.

Interment will conclude services at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Boston.
