Rashaad Robinson Joins Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern MA
BBBSEM Welcomes Rashaad Robinson to its Board of Advisors. Goldman Sachs Investment Advisor to Support Nonprofit's Continued Growth.

JAMAICA PLAIN, Mass. – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts (BBBSEM), one of the nation’s leading one-to-one mentoring programs and New England’s largest Big Brothers Big Sisters affiliate, is pleased to welcome Rashaad Robinson, Investment Advisor for Goldman Sachs, to the nonprofit’s Board of Advisors.
Robinson, 34, of Jamaica Plain, brings 15 years of management, planning and leadership experience. As an investment advisor for Goldman Sachs, he guides families, institutions and nonprofit organizations in creating road maps for long-term fiscal health. Previously, he founded and ran a private real estate investment firm in St. Louis and served five years in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Belgium working as a Nuclear Personnel Reliability Program Manager and served on the Honor Guard. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from the University of Illinois and a Master of Professional Studies - Real Estate Finance & Investments from Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business.
Growing up, Robinson credits several teachers and athletic coaches for helping guide him through his youth. As a professional in the finance and real estate investment industries, he has noticed a lack of representation and mentors of color. His personal experience coupled with his father-in-law’s story of witnessing his father serve as a Big Brother in a Big Brothers Big Sisters program inspired Robinson to become a mentor in BBBSEM’s Mentor 2.0 program, the nonprofit’s technology-enriched one-to-one youth mentoring program directly targeting high school students.

“Mentor 2.0 seemed like a perfect fit for me to work with youth in a way that was flexible to my schedule after I had completed my graduate program and was working to start my career,” says Robinson, who also serves as a Career Coach for Career Collaborative, which shows unemployed and under-employed adults with low-income jobs how to build careers that change lives and strengthen families. “No matter how much I try to give back, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts will always outmatch me in the fulfillment and sense of meaning I receive in return. I’m proud to serve with an organization with such a strong mission and history.”
BBBSEM Board of Advisors commit to serving the organization over the course of 2 years. As a member, Robinson will contribute his skills, time, connections and financial resources to help foster the agency’s growth by acting as an ambassador of the organization and its important work in the community.
