Upgrades Planned For Jamaica Plain's Franklin Park

Several changes will be made possible under the 2016 FY budget.


Several Parks across the city of Boston will undergo some sort of improvement under the state’s FY 2016 budget. Jamaica Plain’s Franklin Park is one of several outdoor environments set to see some changes for the better, according to BostInno.

Under the new budget, Boston will be issuing $75,000 to re-use Franklin Park Yard as an administration and maintenance facility for the city’s Parks Department.

Franklin Park received prior funds totaling $760,000 to carry out repairs to its pathway and entranceway. An additional $750,000 is expected to be issued in future budgets.

Other parks set to undergo improvements include, Boston Common, Christopher Columbus Park, Commonwealth Avenue Mall, Harambee Park, John Harvard Mall, Langone Park & Puopolo Playground and Moakley Park.
