Watch: Harlem Globetrotters Hijack Boston Tea Party Ship

Two members of the basketball squad commandeered the ship - and the only thing sinking were the balls going through the hoop.

Sub-freezing temps? High winds? Neither were a match for the Harlem Globetrotters on Monday.

Buckets Blakes and Sweet J Ekworomadu took over the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum with students from The Eliot School to attempt trick shots to a hoop on a boat supplied by Boston Harbor Cruises. Those attempts were successful, as you’ll see in the video below:

The Globetrotters continued their Boston voyage aboard the USS Constitution on Tuesday in Charlestown. The ballers took shots off “Old Ironside” to a hoop on the pier.

A recent press release indicated that the week of March 23rd is “Globetrotter Week” in Boston, which culminates with four games at the following locations:

  • Friday, March 27 at 7 p.m. in Worcester at the DCU Center
  • Saturday, March 28 at 1 p.m. in Lowell at the Tsongas Center
  • Saturday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Boston –at the TD Garden
  • Sunday, March 29 at 1 p.m. in Boston at TD Garden
