When is the First Day of School in Boston?

Believe it or not, the first day of school is just a few short weeks away!

Fortunately, for students and parents in Boston, classes for the 2015-2016 school year won’t begin until after the Labor Day holiday.

So when is the first day of school for Boston Public School students?

The first day of school is set for Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Here are some other important 2015-2016 dates for Boston Public School students:

• Sept. 10: First day of Kindergarten
• Oct. 12: No school - Columbus Day
• Nov. 11: No school - Veterans Day holiday
• Nov. 26 & 27: Thanksgiving break
• Dec. 24: Holiday break begins
• Jan. 4: Students return from holiday break
• Feb. 15: Break from classes through the 19th begins
• Apr. 18: Break from classes through the 22nd begins
• Jun. 21: Last day of school
