Lexington Among America's Richest Communities

Bloomberg recently ranked America's richest communities based on census data.

LEXINGTON, MA – Where do America's richest folks live? For Lexington residents, right in your backyard.

According to a new analysis of census data published by Bloomberg, Lexington is among the 100 richest communities in the country. The town came in at No. 93 based on its 2015 average household income of $197,107, a 3.8 percent increase from the previous year.

Cities and towns with ties to Wall Street and Silicon Valley had the highest U.S. household incomes in 2015. The richest households weren't isolated to the coasts, with some communities in between also making the cut.
Atherton, California, topped the list, owing to its proximity to Silicon Valley. On the opposite coast, Bloomberg notes that more than one-third of the country's richest households were located within 50 miles of New York City.
