Lexington Enacts Voluntary Outdoor Water Restrictions

Local residents and businesses are also urged to conserve water overall.

LEXINGTON, MA – Lexington is asking residents to restrict their outdoor water use in the morning. Residents are urged to not use water from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for activities such as:

  • watering lawns and gardens
  • filling pools
  • car washing
  • powerwashing

Residents and businesses are also asked to conserve water overall. This will help ensure that residents have enough water for indoor activities in the morning.

The Board of Selectman voted on July 23 to implement this voluntary time shift from July 24 to October 5. Anyone questions or concerns should be directed to the DPW at 781-274-8300 ext. 1.
