Lexington Fire Crews Brave Freezing Temps Battling 3-Alarm Fire
A police officer woke up the homeowners and helped them get out of the burning home without injuries, officials said.

LEXINGTON, MA — Lexington fire officials worked through the bitter cold and high winds to put out a fire on Friday morning.
The fire broke out in a home on Maple Street. A neighbor called police and within a minute of receiving the call officers were at the home. Lexington police officers alerted the homeowners to the fire and helped them, and their pets, get out of the house without getting hurt, according to Lexington police.
The roof of the home was engulfed in flames. Crews from neighboring fire departments helped put out the fire.

Six firefighters were treated for minor injuries and two police officers were treated for smoke inhalation, according to Lexington police.
The cause is still under investigation.
