Nominations for the 2020 White Tricorn Hat award are now being accepted. Each year on Patriots Day, the Lexington Lions Club presents the White Tricorn Hat Award honoring an outstanding resident of Lexington. This year’s award will be presented during the morning ceremonies on the Battle Green.

The criteria used by the selection committee is the candidate must be a current resident of Lexington, not a major elective office holder, someone who has demonstrated a dedication to the principles of outstanding citizenship and has advanced the American way of life in Lexington by giving unselfishly of his or her time and talents over the years beyond the normal bounds of his or her occupation. The award is made without regard to gender, race, or religious affiliation. Past recipients are ineligible.

The selection committee is composed of a representative of the Lexington Lions Club and other local Lexington organizations, which typically includes: Lexington Interfaith Clergy Association, Lexington Rotary Club, Lexington Chamber of Commerce, Lexington Lodge of Elks, the Lexington Historical Society, and the two most recent recipients of the award.
