Lexington Sees Uptick in Coronavirus Cases

Lexington was in the "yellow" zone in last week's report from the state.

LEXINGTON, MA — The number of coronavirus cases rose last week, according to the state's data. Lexington reported 56 cases of coronavirus in the two weeks leading up to April 10, up from 28 the week before.

The average daily incidence rate was higher than the previous week's, increasing to 11.7 from 5.9. The percent positivity increased from 0.82 percent to 1.45 percent. Lexington is labeled "yellow" in the state's risk assessment, a change from last week's "green" status.

The state reported 59 communities were high-risk last week, down from 77 the week before.

Massachusetts reported 26,717 cases over the past two weeks, with a daily incidence rate of 27.4 cases per 100,000 people and a percent positivity of 2.3 percent.
