Lexington Thanksgiving: What's Open And Closed?

Whether you need last-minute appetizers or are getting an early jump on Christmas shopping, see what is open and closed around town.

LEXINGTON, MA -- Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov. 23., and as always marks the beginning of the race toward Christmas. Patch hopes you are able to take it slow this week, enjoy family and friends, remember the multitude of good things you've been able to experience, and consider those without.

If you do plan on going out and about, please be aware there will be closures around town. Here's a list of what will be open and closed this year on Turkey Day:

  • Retail stores: Varies. For more information, see Massachusetts Stores Closed On Thanksgiving
  • Supermarkets, liquor stores: Closed
  • Convenience stores: Open at owner's discretion
  • Gyms: Closed or reduced hours
  • Bars and restaurants: Open at owner's discretion
  • Stock market: Closed
  • Municipal, state, federal offices and banks: Closed
  • Libraries and schools: Closed
  • Post office: Closed
  • Trash Collection: There will be no collection on Thursday. Thursday and Friday pickups will be delayed by one day.
