Lexington Theatre Pharmacy Under New Ownership

Lexington's Theatre Pharmacy was purchased by the Dinno Health family of independent pharmacies.

LEXINGTON, MA — Theatre Pharmacy, a family-run pharmacy business serving the Lexington community since 1935, has been purchased by the Dinno Health family of independent pharmacies. The sale was finalized Wednesday for undisclosed terms.

Theatre Pharmacy will keep its name and location at 1784 Massachusetts Ave. in the heart of Lexington’s business district. The new owners are Saad and Ray Dinno, who are brothers and experienced pharmacists. Together they also operate Acton Pharmacy, Keyes Drug in Newton and West Concord Pharmacy, a trio of independent pharmacies under the Dinno Health brand.

“We are so excited to bring Theatre Pharmacy, a trusted, customer-focused provider of pharmacy services, into the Dinno Health family,” said Saad Dinno, RPh. “We look forward to a seamless transition with the dedicated team of pharmacists, technicians and other staff members.”

Founded by Ettore P. Venier, Theatre Pharmacy is the only remaining independent pharmacy in Lexington, outlasting seven other local drugstores over the past 85 years. It is also one of the oldest family businesses in town. The pharmacy has been owned and run by Venier’s son, Chris, a pharmacist who has known the Dinnos for more than 15 years.

“My wife, Kathy, and I thank all of the customers, whom we have been honored to know and serve these many years. These talented, knowledgeable and gracious men and women have enriched our lives,” said Venier.

Dinno Health has been a trusted provider of pharmacy services since 1985, when Saad and Ray Dinno’s father, Ramzi, bought Keyes Drug. The company acquired Acton Pharmacy in 1997 and later added the former Richardson Drug Company (West Concord Pharmacy) in 2008. Each store is a full-service pharmacy, offering prescriptions and other specialty items such as medical supplies, surgical stockings, a full line of vitamins and supplements, and an array of vaccines. Compounded medications are available by prescription from the compounding labs in Acton Pharmacy and Keyes Drug.

While no major changes are planned with the new ownership transition, Dinno Health anticipates adding delivery service for customers in Lexington and surrounding communities, along with a greater selection of nutraceutical products in the store.
