Speeding Stop In Lexington Ends In Gun Charges

LEXINGTON, MA — State Police in Lexington pulled over a car for speeding and ended up arresting everyone in the car and charging them with multiple gun offenses.

According to State Police, troopers pulled the car over for driving 88 mph on I-95 North in Lexington on Saturday morning. When the car pulled over, the trooper started an investigation and built probable cause to conduct a search according to State Police.

Troopers found a loaded Ruger .380 pistol, with an extended magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition, in plain view sticking out of the back seat pocket, according to State Police. None of the three people in the car had a gun license.

All three men were transported to the Concord Barracks for booking.

  3. Conspiracy;
  4. Improper Storage of a Firearm;
  5. Receiving Stolen Property (firearm);
  6. Possession of a Firearm with 2 Prior Violent/Drug Crimes;
  7. Possession of a Firearm, 2nd Offense;
  8. Carrying a Loaded Firearm;
  9. Possession of Ammunition without FID Card;
  10. Possession of Open Container of Marijuana in Motor Vehicle;
  11. Possession of a Firearm without FID Card; and
  12. Speeding.
