What's Open, Closed On Fourth Of July In Lexington

Trash and recycling will be delayed one day because of the holiday.

LEXINGTON, MA — The Fourth of July is a time to celebrate the nation with barbecues, parades and of course, a day off from work. That includes many local and state government offices.

The holiday also means that trash and recycling pickup are delayed by one day — Thursdays pick-up will be on Friday and Friday’s will be picked up on Saturday.

  • Municipal, state, federal offices: Closed (no meetings)
  • Schools: Closed
  • Library: Closed
  • Banks: Closed
  • Mail: Post offices closed; express delivery only
  • Supermarkets: Open
  • Convenience stores: Open
  • Retail stores: Open at owner's discretion
  • Restaurants, bars: Open at owner's discretion
  • Liquor stores: Closed
  • Trash, recycling: Delayed one day.
