Yangtze River Successor Reportedly Open In Lexington
The Chinese restaurant closed last year after decades in Depot Square.

LEXINGTON, MA – Almost a year after longtime Lexington Chinese restaurant Yangtze River closed, a new eatery has opened in its place. Yangtze River, which had operated out of 25 Depot Sq. since the mid-1970s, closed last year, with Chinese and Japanese restaurant Sanyo set to take its place.
Back in May, it was reported renovations to the Depot Square space were about 90 percent complete and the team was shooting for a June opening date. According to Boston Restaurant Talk, Sanyo recently opened.
The restaurant, owned by Bamboo and Mandarin owner Steven Wang, features many dishes from Bamboo's menu, as well as sushi, udon noodles, tempura and some Yangtze River classics.
