Car Chase On Route 1 In Lynnfield Ends In Fiery Crash
The driver was flown to Boston hospital.
LYNNFIELD, MA — A car chase involving Peabody police, state police and a pickup truck abruptly ended on Monday when the truck crashed and burst into flames on Route 1 in Lynnfield, according to Massachusetts State Police.
The crash happened around 12:40 p.m. on the southbound side of Route 1, south of the Lynnfield Tunnel. The southbound side of Route 1 was temporarily closed but all lanes were reopened by 2:30 p.m.
The driver was flown to Boston Hospital and state police said Peabody police will handle charges against them. No word on why police were chasing the truck.
