CD Release Party Tonight for Local Band's New Rock Opera

A look at what's coming up in and around Lynnfield.

Today is Monday, Nov. 25. Here are five things worth knowing today. 

The Brian Maes Band, which includes Lynnfield resident Charles “Kook” Lawry on guitar, is holding a CD release party tonight for their new rock opera “The Devil and Billy Shake.” The event is at O’Briens, 829 Boston Street in Lynn, with a meet and greet and appetizers. Admission is $20 per person or $25 per couple or family.

Today from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., the Lynnfield Library holds a Teen Game Day to help mark National Game and Puzzle Week. Playing cards as well as games like Uno, Scrabble and Cranium will be available. Ages 12-18. No registration required and refreshments will be served.

On Wednesdays though December 18, the Lynnfield Senior Center will be serving lunch and watching Season 3 of the show “Downtown Abbey.” Sign up for lunch the day before, $3.

This Friday night, the Lynnfield High School Hockey Team holds its Winterfest event at the Wakefield Elks Club on Bay State Road. Click here for details.

Coming up on Sunday, December 8, the First Parish Congregational Church on Church Street in Wakefield welcomes the Polymnia Choral Society and the Treble Chorus of New England for a concert entitled “Canticles of Light.” Click here to learn more.
