Outside Watering In Lynnfield Limited to Hand-Held Hoses

Lynnfield, MA - Lynnfield Center residents will not be able to use water hoses beyond hand-held hoses with a nozzle as a result of the recent drought. Violations of the restrictions are subject to a fine or fines. The following is an announcement from the Lynnfield Center Water District:
Due to the continued drought conditions and high demand for water, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has ordered under the conditions of the withdrawal permits that the 14 city and town public water supplies of the Ipswich River Basin must further restrict outside water usage to only hand-held hoses with a nozzle. Violations of the restrictions are subject to a fine or fines.
If the extreme dry spell continues a total ban on outside use may be imposed by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and will be posted on the District web site www.LCWD.US.
