Essex County Sheriff's Officers Recognized For Saving Inmate
An inmate had a medical emergency and the officers jumped into action.

ESSEX COUNTY, MA — A scary moment in the Essex county jail was quickly handled and under control by officers on duty. The department honored the seven officers on duty who helped save an inmate who suffered a medical emergency.
Sheriff Kevin Coppinger recognized the officers on Thursday with certificates and shoutout on the department Facebook page. "The immediate response and level of care provided was a clear example of their commitment to training, dedication to duty and concern for human life," the post read.
The officers recognized were Lieutenant Steven Wilkins, Sergeant Brian Tavares, Officer Jared Valeri, Officer Joseph Twomey, Officer Scott Foley, Officer Brett Feldman and Officer Guy Ventura
