Holistic Health Speakers at Lynnfield Catholic Collaborative

LYNNFIELD, Ma. – The Lynnfield Catholic Collaborative is offering a Holistic Health Speaker Series that acknowledges, promotes, and shares information about the intrinsic and holy connection between the body, mind, and spirit.

All presentations will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church Hall, 758 Grove Street, Lynnfield. They are free of charge and open to all.

September 7 – “Ministry and Mental Health: What Feeds Your Spirit?” presented by Peg Sallade, Substance Use Prevention Coordinator for A Healthy Lynnfield, 5:15-6:15 pm. This workshop will explore how spirituality, prayer, and ministry are connected to health. We will discuss how to recognize and help those impacted by mental health and addiction issues.

October 5 – “Healthy Cooking with Angela Siraco,” 5:15-6:15 pm. This cooking demonstration will give tips, tricks, and helpful hints on healthy cooking – and maybe even a taste of some vegetable lasagna!

October 12 – “Media Literacy” presented by Sister Christine Wegendt of the Daughters of St. Paul, 5:15-7:30 pm. From music and movies, to advertising and the internet, our lives are filled with the sights and sounds of the media. This interactive presentation introduces participants to the tools we need to make wise, healthy media choices for ourselves and how to inform our children to engage the world of media from a Gospel perspective.

November 2 – “Palliative Care: Holistic Health Care” presented by Diane McCarthy, of the Archdiocese of Boston’s Initiative for Palliative Care and Advanced Care Planning, 5:15-6:15 pm.

December 7 – “Meditation & Prayer” presented by Father Anselm Smedile, OSB, Prior of Saint Anselm Abbey in Manchester, New Hampshire, 5:15-6:15 pm.
