LYNNFIELD, MA — The federal government has sent more than $50,000 to one Lynnfield company for coronavirus relief efforts in Lynnfield since Congress passed the CARES Act in March.
HP Hood, a Lynnfield-based company, received over $58,000 in funding from the Federal government for coronavirus relief.
The funding came from the agricultural marketing service for perishable food manufacturing, according to the Federal Procurement Data System.

Congress passed the $2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act on March 27. In addition to direct aid to people who lost their jobs and the Paycheck Protection Program to help small businesses avoid laying off workers, the act included direct government spending for fighting the coronavirus.
