Lynnfield Cub Scouts Learn Filmmaking At Apple Store

Scouts taught how to use the "Clips" App to film short videos then edit and splice them to give them a magical result.

Submitted by Pack 48 Den Leader Patrick G. Curley:

Lynnfield Cub Scout Pack 48 Bear Den recently learned how to shoot and edit films at the Apple Store Lynnfield.

Apple Store Creative Pro, Kerry Bramhall, taught the Scouts how to use the “Clips” App to film short videos then edit and splice them to give them a magical result.

The Scouts perfected their filmmaking and editing through trial and error then broadcast their finished productions on the giant Apple Store TV that fills the entire side of the store. Each Scout introduced their film on the store-wide speaker system while dozens of shoppers listened and enjoyed watching the films.

Alan Curley and Jacob Desrochers paired up to shoot a video of a giant leather medicine ball rolling across the floor, through the Apple Store window, and across the sidewalk outside.

Camden Anderson and Noah Desrochers paired up to shoot a video in which it appeared that Camden jumped right through the window (without breaking the glass!).

CJ Anderson and Michael Cieslewicz paired up to shoot a video of CJ walking behind a thin ceiling support column then transforming magically into Michael walking out the other side.

“This is our Den’s 2nd visit to the Apple Store and they always put on a top-notch interactive adventure,” said Den Leader Patrick Curley. “None of our Scouts had done any video editing let alone trick filming but they all proved to be quick learners. We are grateful to the Apple Store and to Kerry Bramhall for hosting this memorable event.”
