Lynnfield Fire Dept. Answered Over 2,000 Calls In 2019

LYNNFIELD, MA — The Lynnfield Fire Department had a busy year in 2019. The department rang in 2020 by reflecting on all the work that was done in 2019. In volume alone, Lynnfield fire officials said 2019 was their busiest year yet, answering over 2,000 calls.

Over the course of the year, the fire department responded to 2,022 calls. The majority of the calls weren't about fires, but for rescues and EMS. To highlight the variety of calls that come in, the department published a breakdown of the calls received throughout the year.

Of the 2,022 calls the Lynnfield Fire Department answered:

• 89 were fire calls
• 1,242 were rescue and EMS calls
• 70 were hazardous condition calls
• 223 were service calls
• 115 were good intent calls
• 275 were false alarms
• 8 were severe weather related

• 288 times two calls came in at at once
• 43 times three calls came in at once
• 11 times four calls came in at once
• 1 time five calls came in at once
• 1 time six calls came in at once
