Lynnfield Street Listing Available
The Street Listings are compiled from the annual census forms received in the clerk's office in early Spring.

LYNNFIELD, MA - The Town Clerk's office now has the 2016 Street Listings, the town clerk said in a release.
The Street Listings are compiled from the annual census forms received in the clerk's office in early Spring. "Now known as the annual street list, the Massachusetts annual town census goes back to the 1600s, when men who wished to become registered voters were qualified to vote if their property was of sufficient value. By 1860, the qualifications had changed from just property value to also include a man’s length of residency and having paid taxes. By 1890, women were also allowed to vote, under the same requirements, but only for members of the School Committee," a release said. "The law requiring an annual Town census has been amended over the years, and currently Massachusetts state law Chapter 51 requires the annual town census. While it was originally done house-to-house, since the 70's, the information has been gathered primarily by mail."
The town clerk said the cost per book is $12 payable by check or cash. These books can be purchased at the Town Clerk's office during normal business hours, Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Limited quantities are available, a release said.
