Lynnfield's Marianne Cafazzo Passes Away

Marianne (Mandile) Cafazzo of Lynnfield, formerly of Reading and Medford, passed away on March 11 at the Sunrise of Lynnfield. She was 82 years of age.

Marianne was born in Waltham on June 14, 1934, the daughter of John and Rose (Giardina) Mandile. She grew up in Medford, was a longtime resident of Reading before moving to Lynnfield 11 years ago. She was a retired Registered Nurse from Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. She loved to travel, dance, and play Bridge.

Marianne was the beloved wife of John D. Cafazzo. Devoted mother of Paul J. Cafazzo of Atkinson, NH; John E. Cafazzo and his wife Terri of Reading; Jean Cafazzo Hopkins and her husband John of Wakefield; Susan B. Cafazzo and her husband Ken Rosenthal of Lynnfield; and Mark A. Cafazzo and his wife Amy of Hopkinton. Cherished sister of John Mandile and his wife Ann of Medford and Josephine Prendergast and her husband Jim of York, ME. Loving grandmother of Eric, Jessica, Nicole, Sarah, Katherine, john, Natalie, Luke, Philip, Stephen, Jeffrey, Gabriel, and Jackson and loving great grandmother of Cali.

Her funeral will be held from the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Saturday, March 18 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Assumption Church 17 Grove St., Lynnfield at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Reading. Funeral home visiting hours will be held Friday from 4-8 p.m.
