The Lynnfield Police Department will be the collection site for the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 24th from 10am-2pm. This day addresses a public safety and public health issue of the misuse of Rx drugs. The majority of misused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet. This is a great opportunity to dispose of any unwanted, unused, or expired prescription medications.

The Lynnfield Police Department, located at 55 Summer Street in Lynnfield, will accept the following:

  • Medication in its original container or by removing the medication from its container and disposing of it directly into the disposal box. If an original container is submitted, the individual should be encouraged to remove any identifying information from the prescription label.
  • All solid dosage pharmaceutical product and liquids in consumer containers may be accepted. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container. The depositor should ensure that the cap is tightly sealed to prevent leakage.
