Red Flag Warning: Critical Fire Weather Conditions Wednesday
The warning, due to an elevated fire weather threat, is in effect from noon until 6 p.m. for much of the state.

A red flag warning will be in effect from noon until 6 Wednesday night for all of Massachusetts except for Nantucket. The National Weather Service issued the warning early Wednesday morning.
A red flag warning means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. Any fires that start may spread rapidly and become difficult to extinguish.

Dry weather and gusty winds will result in critical fire weather conditions, the National Weather Services says.
Wednesday’s weather will be dry in the 60s with northwest 10 to 20 mile per hour winds with gusts up to 25 miles per hour. Relative humidity will be as low as 27 percent.
