MANSFIELD, MA - Old Mansfield is coming down to make way for a new project.
Recently, construction crews have begun tearing down buildings near the train station. In their place will be a $15 million mix-use project. Called North Common Estates, the new development will consist of a 39-unit building with 7,000 square feet of retail space and a 42-unit building with no retail space.
During a hearing in front of the planning board last year, Town Planner Shaun Burke endorsed the development, calling it “a landmark project” that could link the two parts of downtown.
Construction was approved last year.
