Flood Watch, Wind Advisory Issued for Mansfield

Expect slow driving, high winds, and lots of rain Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.

MANSFIELD, MA — It could be a wet and windy commute home Monday afternoon and evening, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast.

The NWS has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Mansfield, effective Monday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. Heavy rain is expected during this period and most areas can expect between 2-3 inches of rain.

A Wind Advisory has also been issued and is in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday. The NWS says to expect winds of 14-18 mph with gusts of up to 48 mph Monday night. The wind is expected to continue into Tuesday with a speed of 8-15 mph and gusts as high as 37 mph.

Drivers should expect slower than usual communes Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning. The NWS warns drivers to never drive through a flooded roadway.
