Mansfield Weather Update: Forecast Says 8-10 Inches of Snow Possible

By Sunday morning, up to nine inches of snow could be on the ground in Mansfield.

MANSFIELD, MA - Winter Storm Jonas should be arriving in the area Saturday, bringing a more than few inches of snow along the way.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Northern Bristol County and Mansfield. The warning is issued by the NWS when an average of six or more inches of snow is expected in a 12-hour period, or eight or more inches in a 24-hour period.

  • TIMING: Snow will continue through Saturday night before tapering off after midnight.
  • WINDS: Around 15-25 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph.
  • TEMPERATURES: In the 20s
  • VISIBILITY: One quarter of a mile or less.

The warning is in effect until 7 a.m. Sunday.

On the forecast front, some networks are increasing their projections for Mansfield. The latest forecast from WHDH has Mansfield receiving four to eight inches while WCVB says six to nine inches is possible. The NWS has the highest forecast with 8-10 inches.
