Froyo Shop Menchie's Opening in Mansfield

Menchie’s, a self-serve frozen yogurt shop, is opening its first Massachusetts location at Mansfield Crossing Thursday.

The California-based chain, which started in 2007, now operates more than 400 shops across the globe.

The Mansfield store will be run by franchisee Rustum Boyce.

“When my partner, Delna, and I visited a Menchie’s location in Los Angeles we fell in love with the young, rapidly growing brand,” Boyce said in a statement. “Menchie’s gives us the opportunity to connect with the Mansfield community through events and fundraisers, which is very appealing to us on a personal level.”

The company said each store donates "thousands of dollars" each year to local schools.

The Mansfield shop will hold a grand opening celebration the week of June 7 to 13. Below is a schedule of events:
