Mansfield Emergency Officials Deal With Rollover Amid Rain Deluge

As heavy rain hammered southeast Massachusetts on Sunday, a rollover crash cluttered Ware Street.

MANSFIELD, MA — A month of drought gave way to massive downpours on Sunday and Monday that closed roads, flooded Norwood Hospital and may have contributed to accidents across areas of southeastern Massachusetts that received more than 5 inches of rain within a few hours in some spots.

In Mansfield, Mansfield police and fire came together to attend to a rollover crash on Ware Street near Essex Street. Mansfield police said the driver was evaluated and taken to an area hospital.

Norwood Hospital remained closed on Monday due to flooding damage. More heavy downpours are expected through Wednesday before better weather is likely on the way this weekend.
