The national publication for entrepreneurs recognized Mansfield for its "savvy planning, and strong business growth."
MANSFIELD, MA — A national trade magazine for entrepreneurs, small business owners, and executives recognized Mansfield as a community with a bright economic future. In its June issue, Business View Magazine called the town a "Bristol County showpiece of forward thinking, savvy planning, and strong business growth."The trade magazine interviewed Town Manager Kevin Dumas to showcase some of the reasons it believes Mansfield has created a strong business climate.
Location was one of the most important highlighted. Mansfield is halfway between Boston and Providence with access to majors Interstates 95 and 495. Dumas told Business View Magazine both Logan and TF Green airports can be accessed by the commuter rail, and Mansfield has the second largest MBTA ridership outside of Boston. The magazine also highlighted Cabot Business Park, the second largest industrial park in the state, which hosts about 5,000 jobs. New projects the town is working on like the Mansfield Village overlay district were also mentioned. Mansfield Village will include retail business, apartments, and a multi-story parking garage to free up area parking.
"The aim is to sustain a mixed-use, village environment with increased density that supports development for a retail, commercial sector on the south end of Mansfield Village, as well as housing, and mixed-use business development on the north portion ...," Dumas told Boston View Magazine. "That’s the area where we see the most growth, especially in one and two bedroom condominium units or apartment rentals. People want to be in the downtown and right next to the rail."
