Mansfield High School Evacuated After Gas Leak

Students and staff were temporarily evacuated from Mansfield High School after a report of a gas leak.

MANSFIELD, MA — Students and staff were evacuated from Mansfield High School Thursday after a report of a gas leak at the school. Police notified the public about the incident shortly after noon, stating the evacuation was being conducted as a safety precaution.

No injuries were reported. The students were moved to neighboring schools as part of the evacuation. Fire Department officials and Columbia Gas were on scene to investigate the incident. School dismissal time did not change. Students returned to the school by 2 p.m., after the building was deemed safe, according to police.
