Mansfield Home Invasion, Manchester NH Burglary Suspect Arrested

MANSFIELD, MA — One of the two men suspected in connection to a home invasion in Mansfield early Tuesday morning, and who is also wanted in Manchester, N.H. on several burglary charges from November, has been arrested. Mansfield police identified Kevin Gearhart, 54, on Tuesday as one of two men suspected of a stealing items from a home on Stearns Avenue while the homeowners were asleep. Mansfield and Manchester announced the arrest Wednesday night.

Manchester police said on Wednesday that Gearhart, 54, is also wanted on several burglary charges in that city and is frequently in Manchester. Mansfield police said Gearhart is a homeless man from Boston, and that a warrant had been issued for his arrest on larceny charges.

Mansfield police said Gearhart and another man are suspected of breaking into the home and stealing items after finding house keys in an unlocked vehicle in the driveway. The second man remains unidentified as of Wednesday. Mansfield police posted a photo and surveillance video from inside the house in hopes that anyone in area who recognizes the men, or saw something suspicious, will come forward. Police said the suspects left on a four-door silver sedan.

The second suspect is a black man approximately 6 feet tall and in his 30s. He appears to have slight facial hair and was wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket with buttons, dark pants and a dark stocking-type hat, with dark sneakers that had white trim on the bottom at the time of the home invasion.
