Mansfield To Host Virtual Parents Meetings On Return To School

MANSFIELD, MA — Mansfield Public Schools will hold separate virtual meetings for parents and guardians next week to discuss details on the town's Return To School Plan.

Separate meetings will be scheduled regarding transportation, facilities and food services prior to the start of school on Sept. 16.

Mansfield Public Schools are also looking for those who plan for students to choose the full-virtual plan to do so by Friday. Parents choosing that option should look from surveys from their respective principals.

"Families who have decided that they do not wish to participate with in-person learning to any degree will be offered the opportunity for their children to participate in the virtual remote learning cohort," Mansfield Superintendent of Schools Teresa Murphy said. "Students in this cohort will remain enrolled in the school district but will learn remotely. The district is working to the extent possible to have Mansfield teachers instruct these students, but may have to augment the instruction by using one of the state virtual learning vendors.

"Families will be asked to enroll in the program. This doesn’t preclude families from having their children return to in-person learning; however, we ask families to be mindful of the fact that we will be staffing the cohort based on their enrollment decisions. Interested families should review the sample remote learning plans in this document."
