Mansfield Police Searching For Robbery, Bomb Threat Suspect
Police say the man robbed the Citizen's Bank at the Chauncy St. Stop & Shop after threatening that there were explosives in the building.
MANSFIELD, MA—Police are searching for the suspect in a robbery involving a bomb threat that took place at the Citizen's Bank at the 377 Chauncy St. Stop & Shop on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident took place at approximately 4 p.m. following reports of the robbery and the grocery store was evacuated due to the suspect's claims that there were explosives in the building, according to a press release from the Mansfield Police Department.
Police say an initial review of the surveillance video and witness reports revealed that the suspect is a white male between the ages of 50 and 60 years old with white hair and blue or green eyes. He was wearing a blue Patriots ball cap, an orange GAP sweatshirt, and gray carpenter style pants at the time of the robbery.

Mansfield and state police cleared the building of any potential explosives following the bomb threat. The incident remains under investigation by Mansfield detectives and the FBI.
