Mansfield police said they have received dozens of calls from residents about an email-based phishing scam.

MANSFIELD, MA — Mansfield police are warning residents not to click on unsolicited email links in what is believed to be a phishing scam aimed at Comcast/Xfinity users. Police said dozens of residents have reported receiving the email, which has in some cases references an old password the customer once used.

Police said not to click on the link and to use strong passwords in any account. Police said to delete the email and then independently go to the company website to change the password.

"Never follow a link in an email that leads to a site that asks you to enter a password or personal information," Police said.
