Mansfield Presentation On Teen Addiction Free, Open To Public
The Feb. 6 event at Mansfield High will focus on how addictive substances and behaviors impact the developing brain of young adults.
MANSFIELD, MA — The long-term impact of addictive substances and behavior on adolescents and young adults will be the subject of a free presentation open to the public at Mansfield High School on Feb. 6. Teens, their parents, grandparents, caregivers and teachers are invited to "Addiction & The Developing Brain: What Every Parent Should Know About Their Teen’s Brain Development" from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Mansfield High.
Dr. Ruth Potee, the medical director for the Franklin County Board of Corrections and a certified family medicine and addiction medicine professional, will speak about how substances and addictive behaviors impact the brain, how the brain is injured by prolonged exposure, and what can be done to keep teens safer, healthier and substance-free through middle and school.
