Mansfield Reports 5 New Coronavirus Positive Cases In July

MANSFIELD, MA — The Mansfield Board of Health reported that 91 percent of known positive cases of the coronavirus in the town have recovered as of the start of this week.

The town said 155 of 170 total cases have recovered with two people under isolation and 13 deaths.

There has not been a death attributed to the virus in the town since May 10.

There have been five new known cases of coronavirus in the town since the beginning of July and three new cases in the past week.

The report comes as cases across the state have seen a slight uptick in the past week.

There were nearly 500 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Massachusetts over the weekend and the percentage of tests that come back positive for the coronavirus was rising.

The Department of Public Health confirmed 210 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday and 273 more cases on Sunday, along with the announcement of 31 recent COVID-19 deaths between the two days. The number of daily new cases, which had generally settled at fewer than 200 a day earlier in the month, had been above 200 each of the four-day span.
