Mansfield Residents Launch Fundraiser To Save Local Restaurant
Donors have raised over $6,000 for Trattoria Della Nonna Italian restaurant.
MANSFIELD, MA — Mansfield residents have launched a GoFundMe to save Trattoria Della Nonna, a local Italian restaurant that is struggling to keep its doors open due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Local resident Bob Petrasek organized the fundraiser Sunday after discovering that the restaurant is on the brink of closure. Since the launch of the GoFundMe page, residents and customers have raised over $6,000 to keep Trattoria Della Nonna up and running.
"We are only months away from easing back to normalcy and I feel if they can get through the next two or so months, that they can go back to outdoor dining and salvage their business and an institution in the town of Mansfield," said Petrasek on the GoFundMe page.

Although the initial fundraising goal was $10,000, Petrasek posted an update Wednesday saying he plans to double the goal to $20,000 and is hoping to present the money Trattoria Della Nonna in the next two or three weeks. A final picture of the total being delivered to the restaurant will be taken and shared with all donors.
"Let’s be the reason at least ONE local restaurant and family business survives!!!" said Petrasek in the update. "Thank you, once again, to so many generous and caring people for already making a big difference so far!! Let’s keep it going!!!"
