Mansfield Storm Update: Power Outages Strike Town

The demand for service was so high that all police personnel had to be called in to assist.

MANSFIELD, MA — Town workers were kept busy with the damage caused by Friday's storm.

The Mansfield Police Department posted on Facebook Friday night that officers, along with the fire department, DPW, electric department, and Mansfield Emergency Management Agency responded to multiple fallen trees, which have caused power outages.

Police say they are also assisting the Foxborough Police Department because their communication system is down.

The large amount of incidents around town had both police and fire asking residents to only use 911 in the event of an emergency. Dispatchers prioritized the calls as they received them and dispatchched the necessary first responders as needed, police said.

Residents were advised to stay off the roads unless it's a necessity.
