Mansfield Tops Foxborough In Thanksgiving Showdown
Despite a late Foxborough touchdown, the Hornets held on for a 28-20 win.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — It should come as no surprise that no matter how the season goes for either team, it's more likely than not that the annual Foxborough-Mansfield Thanksgiving game is going to be close and come down to a few plays. Capitalizing on an important fourth quarter fumble, the turkey will taste extra nice for the Hornets following a 28-20 Turkey Day win at Jack Martinelli Field in Foxborough.
Up one, the Hornets threw 14 points on the board about midway through the fourth quarter. Following a Chris Copponi touchdown that put the Hornets up eight, the Warriors fumbled the ball on the ensuing kickoff, resulting in a Mansfield recovery at the Foxborough 10-yard line and an Aidan Sacco touchdown.
With 3:20 left, Pat Kaveny recovered a fumble for the Warriors at midfield. The resulting drive ended with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Devin Hassett to Jack O’Donnell to cut the lead to eight following the extra point.
